A message from our President, Iain McLaren

This year the CA Conference will take place at The Caledonian Hilton in Edinburgh. Our most prestigious occasion in the ICAS calendar, the 2011 Conference promises to be a thought-provoking event, fittingly titled ‘Courageous Conversations’.

The CA Conference not only offers access to some of the world’s most inspirational speakers and minds, but is a valuable business exchange where knowledge and experiences can be shared; ensuring that CAs make the most of the network they have on their doorstep.

This one day conference will include diverse topics looking at how we shape our future from some of the leading names in business. Announced speakers so far include Ian Mackintosh, Vice-Chair designate of the IFRS Foundation; Hugh Shields, Managing Director, Deutsche Bank; Professor James Woudhuysen, De Montford University (DMU) Leicester and Professor Costas Markides, London Business School.

We look forward to welcoming our guests to Edinburgh for these ‘Courageous Conversations’.

Today, with the global spotlight on accountants as we embark on what will be a historical juncture of corporate reporting and governance, ‘Courageous Conversations’ is about ensuring ICAS has a leading voice in the current debate and dialogue.
